Velkommen til utstillingsåpning av Shirin Neshat: «The Fury»!

«The Fury» er en utstilling med den iranske kunstneren og fotografen Shirin Neshats nyeste arbeider. Utstillingen består av en tokanals videoinstallasjon, en VR-opplevelse og en serie svart-hvitt fotografier med håndskrevet kalligrafi av dikt av den iranske poeten Forough Farrokhzad (1934-1967).

Videoinstallasjonen «The Fury» tar opp temaet rundt den seksuelle utnyttelsen av kvinnelige politiske fanger. Etter å ha blitt utsatt for alvorlig tortur og seksuelle overgrep, inkludert voldtekt, er det allment kjent at mange av kvinnene ikke klarer å komme seg følelsesmessig fra traumene de har opplevd i fengselet, selv etter at de har blitt løslatt.

Welcome to the opening of Shirin Neshat: «The Fury»!

«The Fury» is an exhibition of the most recent work by Iranian visual artist and photographer Shirin Neshat. The exhibition comprises a double-channel video installation, a VR experience, and a series of black and white photographs, with hand-inscribed calligraphy of poems by Iranian poet Forough Farrokhzad (1934-1967).

Neshat’s new video installation addresses the sexual exploitation of women as political prisoners. Subjected to severe torture, sexual assault, including rape, it is commonly known that even after being released, many of the women are unable to recover emotionally from the trauma experienced in prison.
